Composition:-

Sonamukhi (Cassia angustifolia) – 10% : It is laxative and purgative. It increases peristaltic movements of the colon by its local action up on the intestinal wall. Sonamukhi speeds up passage through the caecum and ascending colon, resulting in decreases absorption of water and thereby a bulkier and softer faecal mass. Merits of Senna as a purgative and as a cordial when mixed with suitable drugs. Therapeutical doses stimulate intestinal peristalsis, the aperient (laxative) effect ensuing in about 7 to 12 hours. Jethimadh (Glycyrrhiza glabra)- 1% : Tonic, cooling, demulcent, expectorant, diuretic, emmenagogue and gentle laxative. The compound powder consisting of Senna and other purgatives is useful as a gentle laxative. (Ref: Dr. K.M. Nandakarni’s Indian Materia Medica,Vol.-1 page No. 582)

Variyali (Foeniculum vulgare) – 1% : Stimulant, aromatic, carminative, diuretic, emmenagogue and purgative. (Ref: Dr. K.M. Nandakarni’s Indian Materia Medica,Vol.-1, page No. 557)

Nasotar (Ipomoea turpethum) – 1% : An ideal laxative. It purifies stomach and uterus. Root alone is rich in the purgative principle. (Ref: Dr. K.M. Nandakarni’s Indian Materia Medica,Vol.-1, page No. 692)

Triphala – 1% : A very well known combination of Harde, Baheda an Amla in equal quantity, corrects constipation and has a laxative action and facilitates bowl movement. ( Ref:The Ayurvedic formulary of India, page No.110.

Nimbu ka satva (Citrus Acida) – 3% : Aromatic, stomachic, tonic, astringent, mild carminative, laxtive and anti-scorbutic.

Sakar (Sugar powder) – 49 %: For sweetness

Dosage :
